2017 Sino-US Education Exchange Forum -- The Third StopIssuing time:2017-06-09 13:43 On June 6, 2017, our guests from America arrived at Beijing No. 2 Experimental Primary School Yongding Branch to attend 2017 Sino-America Educational Exchange Forum co-held by BTC. This activity got much attention and strong support from District Education Committee. Director Yang Yan from Primary and Pre-school Education Department and many experts from Teachers‘ Institute attended the forum. Deputy principal Du Chunju hosted this forum. Principal Song gave a warm welcome to principal Walt Shaffner and his colleagues. Director WangPeng from BTC delivered an English speech to make Walt Shaffner and his colleagues feel at home and gave the school two sets of books concerning cross-culture communication written by Prefessor Aaron Vessup from BTC for their English teachers reference. The first class was given by Chinese teacher Kong Hongying. During the class, students paid much attention, took actively part in the activities and gave excellent presentations. Mrs. Ramos greeted students at the gate of the classroom. Students took actively part in group discussion. Every student was willing to answer Karissa's question. Karissa was teaching students maths symbols with body language. Karissa was giving every student one cookie which was the tool during class. After two lessons, teachers and experts from both sides sat together to exchange their own ideas at a deeper level. After discussion of the two lessons, Karissa delivered a speech"strategies for engaging all students in total participation" At science class in the afternoon, students were talking to their peers about how to make new things out of the materials in their hands. Students were prensenting their works. Teacher Tang was giving a summary of today's content. The science lesson taught by Tang Guolei was over and students stood up and say goodbye to teacher Tang. Lindsey was wating for the students who were going to take the science lesson. Students enjoyed the class activity and presented the image of solids, liquids and gases with their own body. Students said good bye to Lindsey Sexton. Summary for two science lessons Lindsey Sexton was delivering a speech "STEM and STEM across the subjects" Chinese teachers were making the trucks with the help from their peers.
