2024 Mentougou District's 5th MiddleSchool English Drama Festival Teacher's Special Training Event

为全面贯彻《义务教育英语课程标准(2022年版)》中提出的“落实立德树人的根本任务”,探索英语学科10%课程实践活动的实施途径,激发学生的英语学习兴趣,传承文化经典,门头沟区教育委员会和门头沟区教育研修学院特开展2024年门头沟区中学第五届英语戏剧节活动。

Mentougou District Education Commission and Mentougou District EducationResearch Institute have jointly launched 2024 Mentougou District's 5th MiddleSchool English Drama Festival, in order to fully implementthe "fundamental task of fostering virtue through education" outlinedin the "Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standards (2022Edition)" and explore the implementation pathways for English subject 10% curriculum practical activities, stimulatingstudents' interest in English learning and inheriting cultural classics.

北京博文圣译国际文化交流中心(BTC)作为此次大会的执行承办单位,将全程贯彻和配合门头沟区教育委员会和门头沟区教育研修学院举办英语戏剧节的主题和目标,保证从英语戏剧节的组织筹划到展演活动的各项工作顺利完成。

Beijing Broaden & Top-trans Communication Center (BTC), as theexecutive undertaking unit of this event, will fully implement and cooperatewith the Mentougou District Education Committee and the Mentougou DistrictEducation Research Institute in hosting the English Drama Festival, ensuringthe smooth completion of all tasks from the organization and planning of thefestival to the performance activities.

此次英语戏剧节各个学校积极报名并提交剧本初稿。为了能针对性的对于各校提交的剧本初稿进行指导,9月4日下午,北京博文圣译国际文化交流中心主任、北大金秋教育研究院高级研究员王朋老师陪同北京教育学院人文与外语教育学院专家柯丹老师,来到门头沟区教育研修学校,对参加展演的全区初高中英语研修员和各校初、高中英语教师进行了一场精彩的剧本培训指导。柯丹老师长期从事英语教学与研究,以及英语教师各级各类培训工作,并主持多期“英语教师教育戏剧教学能力提升”培训班,摸索出一套在外语教学中融入教育戏剧元素的教学模式。

With enthusiastic participation fromvarious schools in submitting their initial script drafts, in order to providetargeted guidance for, on the afternoon of September 4th, Mr. Wang Peng,Director of Beijing Broaden & Top-trans Communication Center (BTC) andSenior Researcher at PKU Jinqiu Educational Development Institute, accompaniedMs. Ke Dan, an expert from the Humanities and Foreign Language College ofBeijing Institute of Education, to the Mentougou District Education ResearchSchool to conduct a fascinating script training session for the district'ssecondary school English teachers. Ms. Ke Dan has long been engaged in Englishteaching and research, as well as various levels of teacher training, and hashosted multiple "English Teacher's Drama Teaching AbilityEnhancement" training courses, developing a teaching model that integrateseducational drama elements into foreign language instruction.

柯丹老师以“剧目的诞生”为主题,带来了一场精彩的专题培训。活动伊始,柯丹老师首先了解了老师们在戏剧创编和指导方面的困惑,并带领老师们进行放松身体的热身活动。

With the theme of "The Birth ofDrama," Ms. Ke Dan delivered a captivating special training session. Atthe beginning of the event, Ms. Ke Dan first inquired about the teachers'confusions in drama creation and guidance, and led them in a warm-up activityto relax.

随后她针对英语戏剧的选材原则、教师在剧目排演中的角色和任务、以及教师进行剧目排演的方法和策略进行介绍和说明,鼓励老师们积极探索英语戏剧的多样化。

In the following training session, she introduced and explained theprinciples of selecting materials for English dramas, the roles and tasks ofteachers in play rehearsals, as well as strategies for teachers to conductrehearsals, encouraging teachers to actively explore the diversification ofEnglish drama.

柯丹老师针对各学校提交的剧本初稿一一点评,并对大家普遍存在的问题,例如如何让剧本有亮点、吸引人以及如何解决舞台表达形式单一的问题进行了深入的剖析,并通过用报纸现场制作人偶和现场表演的形式让老师们参与其中,沉浸式体验学习。整场专题培训,柯丹老师娓娓道来,与会老师们茅塞顿开、豁然开朗。

Ms. Ke Dan provided individual feedback on the initial script draftssubmitted by each school, and conducted an in-depth analysis of common issues,such as how to make scripts more eye-catching and engaging, and how to addressthe problem of monotonous stage expression forms. Through on-site activitiessuch as creating puppets with newspapers and live performances, she engaged theteachers in immersive learning experiences. Throughout the special training events,Ms. Ke Dan spoke in a clear and concise manner, leaving the participating teachers enlightened.

最后,老师们根据柯丹老师临时给的英语剧本《花衣魔笛手》分组进行现场编排并表演,老师们从开始的羞涩到最后的全情演出,让我们看到了与会老师们经过短短三个小时的培训后所绽放出来的魅力。

Finally, the teachersgrouped themselves based on an English script, "The Pied Piper ofHamelin," given by Ms. Ke Dan on the spot, and performed a live rehearsal.From initial shyness to full-hearted performances, we witnessed the charmunleashed by the participating teachers after just three hours of training.

英语戏剧教育教师培训就是要让更多的教师掌握戏剧教育的教学内容和方法,用正确的方式引导学生学习戏剧、享受戏剧,从而提高国内英语戏剧教育水平。英语戏剧不是一般的英语语言培训,而是一种英语文化的学习。除了让学生们掌握语言技能之外,还要让他们学到中西方不同的历史人文知识。学生们在语言学习的过程中,以戏剧表演的方式,用符合他们成长特征的形式展现他们内心的感情色彩。

The purpose ofEnglish drama education teacher training is to enable more teachers to masterthe teaching content and methods of drama education, guiding students to learnand enjoy drama in the correct way, thereby improving the level of Englishdrama education in China. English drama is not just general English languagetraining, but rather a study of English culture. In addition to enablingstudents to master language skills, it also allows them to learn aboutdifferent historical and cultural knowledge from both China and the West.Through drama performances, students can express their inner emotional colorsin a form that is suitable for their growth characteristics during the languagelearning process.
