Caring the Students in the Old Revolutionary Area, Cultivating Love for the Party TogetherIssuing time:2021-06-18 14:35 Caring the Students in the Old Revolutionary Area, Cultivating Love for the Party Together --Kaiwen Academy joined hands with Zhaitang Primary School Beijing Broaden & Top-trans Communication Center (BTC) successfully organized a hand-in-hand exchange activity on June 2, between Haidian Kaiwen academy and Zhaitang Primary School in old revolutionary base area. In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, carry forward the party’s glorious revolutionary tradition, value the growth of students in old revolutionary areas, inspire patriotism among youngsters, and inherit the communist revolutionary sprit. More than a hundred teachers and students from Kaiwen Academy set off at 8 o'clock in the morning. Admiring the green mountains and clean waters of Mentougou District along the way, they came to Zhaitang Primary School amidst laughter. The event kick-off ceremony was held in the playground of Zhaitang Primary School. First, Zhang Hui, secretary of the Party branch and principal of Zhaitang Primary School, delivered a welcome speech upon the arrival of teachers and students from Kaiwen Academy, and briefed the situation of the school. He hoped that through today’s exchange activities, teachers and students of the two schools can discuss about education and students’ development, establish friendship and a long-term exchange of visits mechanism, broaden the horizons of teachers and students in the old revolutionary area, let the students of Kaiwen Academy enhance their understanding of the history of the old revolutionary area, and cultivate their love for the party. The Chinese Executive Vice Principal Ms. Ma Deling, and the American Principal: Mr. Scott Reid of Kaiwen Academy School expressed good wishes and expectations for the hand-in-hand activities of the two schools respectively. They donated original editions of English books to Zhaitang Primary School and set up an English reading zone, hoping to help Zhaitang students in their English learning.
Student representatives from the two schools also spoke at the ceremony. The speech of the student representative of the Kaiwen Academy expressed the joy of meeting the students in the old revolutionary area of Zhaitang, and also hoped to forge a deep friendship with the students of Zhaitang Primary School during the activity, in order to inherit the communist spirt and grow together. The students from Zhaitang Primary School told the guests the heroic deeds of Liu Yukun, the revolutionary predecessor in Zhaitang area, and showcased the spirit of the students in the revolutionary old area in the new era with the inherited the sprit of communism. After the launch ceremony, more than 200 students from the two schools did the set-up exercises to radio music together. Although it was first time for Kaiwen students to do this, their performed surprisingly well. This let the students experience the happiness brought by sports. After the exercise, each class carried out one-on-one pairing activities. The teachers and students of Kaiwen Academy came to each grade to meet their partners, and carried out ice-breaking activities with them. Under the guidance of the teachers, the students quickly got to know each other, having fun games and sincere communication. The “little teachers” of Kaiwen Academy told English stories, taught English songs, and share English learning methods with students from Zhaitang Primary School. When the students of Zhaitang Primary School witness their brothers’ and sisters’ fluent spoken English, they showed great admiration. Kaiwen’s students gained many fans. At the same time, students from both schools exchanged stories about the heroic deeds of the War of Resistance against Japan in the old revolutionary area. They talked about their deeds and feelings, and wrote together sincere letters for the martyrs, which can be described as a "dialog across time and space." The students of the two schools have upgraded their friendship to the feelings for their homeland and country, and are determined to inherit the revolutionary spirit and work hard! In order to deepen the understanding of Kaiwen Academy teachers and students on the history of revolutionary battle in the area of Zhaitang, BTC specifically contacted the Zhaitangchuan Struggle History Exhibition Hall of the Pingxi Anti-Japanese Base Area, and invited the "Red Memory" publicity group composed of students from Zhaitang Primary School to the exhibition hall. The explanation allowed the students of the Kaiwen Academy to learn more about the battle history of the Pingxi Revolutionary Base, and everyone reviewed the arduous struggles of the revolutionary predecessors. The students of the Kaiwen Academy also put on the military uniforms of the Eighth Route Army, and the director Han of the base conducted the explanation, allowing the students to feel the history of the War of Resistance more vividly and intuitively.
Although today’s activities were short, the students of both schools have gained a lot. During the exchange, they forged a deep friendship, shared good wishes and learning methods, and inherited the spirit of the red revolution. With the help of the interpretation from Director Wang of BTC, the leaders of the two schools exchanged views on the school's curriculum concepts and teaching resources, and reached a consensus on future exchanges and cooperation. The two schools will carry out activities in multiple dimensions, enrich activity and course forms of teachers and students, increase visits and learning, and work together to achieve the fundamental task of cultivate people with morality, so as to promote the comprehensive and long-term development of the two schools!
