Xixian District Principle Delegation visited Beijing No. 8 High School Jingxi Affiliated Primary School



Beijing No. 8 High School Jingxi Affiliated Primary School is located in the southern part of Mentougou District, by Fushi Road, Lianshi Road, Chang'an Street West Extension Line, with S1 Subway Line connecting city center. It is a gathering place for the technology industry in Western Beijing, surrounded by high-end housing. The school occupies an area of 43 acres, with 36 teaching classes, and a total of 1372 students. The school officially opened on September 1, 2015. The school's hardware facilities have reached the first-class level in Beijing, with modern teaching buildings, high-end educational facilities, underground parking lots, student cafeterias, playgrounds, football field, basketball court and other advanced facilities. The school has superior curriculum resources, including aerospace science and technology activity room, direct thinking activity room, vocal instrument music, IPAD, drama, chess, 3D theater micro-classes, information technology Internet of things, resources for learning disabilities, etc. totally 30 dedicated classrooms and virtual studios that satisfies the overall growth of students and the personal development of teachers.


In the morning of November 5, 2020, accompanied by Mr. Wang Peng, director of Beijing Broaden & Top-trans Communication Center (BTC), a delegation of 7 principals from Xixian New District, Shaanxi, visited Beijing No. 8 High School Jingxi Affiliated Primary School. The school principal Liu Yali and deputy principal Fu Jiancong warmly received the delegation.


Deputy principal Fu introduced the school philosophy - "to learn about China and the West, to learn about the past and the future, and to learn comprehensively so as to become a balanced individual."


This is the school’s outstanding teaching team. The school has gathered a group of young teachers with master's degrees, adding vitality and motivation to the teaching team.


Next, deputy principal Fu introduced the school’s civilized campus construction work: exploring and building a more scientific, systematic and effective education system with the "eight etiquettes and four rituals" as the carrier, and creating the "eight etiquettes and four rituals" education brand which promotes student development education with "three major projects and six major approaches", to steadily promote school construction, and to achieve high-quality education.



The design concept of the school is very advanced, and the principals who visited expressed admiration for the modern teaching equipment and the layout of the teaching buildings.



Then, the group came to the school's aerospace science and technology activity room to experience the special courses, and the school teacher offered a science lesson to the audience. The principals listened very carefully and praised the ingenious curriculum design.

Next, leaded by principal Liu Yali, the group came to the STEM classrooms that were the focus today. There are screw puzzles to exercise children's hands-on ability and a programming system that tests the combination of hand and brain.


Accompanied by principal Liu and Director Wang Peng, we went to the fourth grade class to observe a practical STEM course - how to make a stethoscope.



Under the guidance of the teacher, the children made their own stethoscopes step by step! How serious they are!

The 21st century demands competent people. "Ability has become a global circulating currency", especially critical thinking ability, innovation ability, cooperation ability, communication ability, information literacy and professional development ability. These have become the most important currency of the 21st century. In this context, the cultivation of talents in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) has become the key for countries to participate in international competition and promote economic development. Education starts with a children, and through STEM courses, we cultivate all aspects of children's abilities from an early age, and prepare more talents for the future construction of our country!



In addition to advanced classrooms and equipment, the outdoor curriculum garden endowed with rich teaching and education concepts also embodies the school's advanced education concepts. Students plant small seeds by themselves, and then, after patient cultivation, they can taste the joy of harvest!



After the visit and observation, the two sides conducted more in-depth exchanges and discussions on education and teaching and took a group photo.
